Crime Deprivation

North Yorkshire has 13 Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) which are within the most deprived 20% in England in terms of the Crime Deprivation domain. They cover parts of Scarborough, Whitby, Harrogate and Selby.

In the 2010 Indices of Deprivation 13 North Yorkshire LSOAs also fell within this most deprived national quintile.

The Crime domain is calculated using recorded crime rates for violence; burglary; theft and criminal damage, covering a total of 35 crime types.
