There are 728 civil parishes within North Yorkshire. They cover the whole of the county with the exception of the towns of Harrogate and Scarborough.

Annual population estimates for parishes are calculated by North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC). They are based on Office for National Statistics estimates for wards.

The availability of statistical information at parish level is limited but, in addition to the population estimates for parishes below, 2011 Census profiles are also available for most parishes with the county. However, figures for some parishes are combined to preserve confidentiality in the more rural areas in North Yorkshire.
