This salary calculator can be used by budget managers to calculate the cost of employing a member of staff, but please do not use the hourly rate(s) for calculating fees to academies, schools or external bodies as the hourly rate(s) exclude overheads. For help with calculating fees to academies, schools or external bodies, please contact the finance team.

The salary calculator provides information on the salary and on-costs by band and scale point. Use the calculator to calculate:

• Salary of a post + employer National Insurance + pension;
• Hourly rate (salary only); and
• Hourly rate employer (salary + National Insurance + pension).
